Y-Category Security Implemented for Vetri Kazhagam Leader Vijay Starting Today

Y-category security, granted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam leader Vijay, has come into effect starting today. Last month, the central government announced this security provision based on internal intelligence reports indicating the need for enhanced protection for Vijay.

Under this Y-category security, a team of 11 personnel will be assigned to protect Vijay round the clock. This team includes specially trained commando officers, armed guards, and advanced surveillance equipment, according to sources.

The team will focus on comprehensive protection, which includes constant monitoring during travel, crowd control during public gatherings, and overall security management. In addition, the state Home Department and local police will also be collaborating in these security efforts.

The Union Home Ministry stated that this security arrangement is essential in light of potential threats against leader Vijay.

Political analysts note that this security setup signifies a key step toward Vijay’s future in politics and reflects the government’s responsibility to safeguard emerging democratic leaders.
